Located on the Central Queensland gemfields, Glenalva is about 20 km southwest of Anakie. There are a wide variety of coloured sapphires in the shallow wash covering most of this area. Camping is allowed but regulated to a maximum period of three months.

A Fossickers Camping Permit is required.
